The obvious thing to do in the area is to just take in the visual fare. Enjoy the sights sounds and scenery. You can do this by walking, cycling, driving, hover-kiting, or balooning alongside or paddling, canoeing or swimming in, though I don't recommend the latter. The RAF do appear near it, and are constantly practising their high noise levels up and down the Dale, but you have to excuse them as one day you may need to facilitate their winching tackle. As I will only be going as far down the river as Otley (unless someone sponsors me for huge ammounts of money £) I will contribute images and to the walks on this site and hunt for verbal contributions from other parties. There is a whole list of outdoor pusuits catered for along the Wharfe. Birdwatching, Wildlife, Fishing, Cycling, Picnics, Pubs, Camping and Caravaning to name but a few. I aim to cover them all in these pages....watch this space. |
